Praying For Those Other People
When it is difficult to pray for the other people who hurt us.

It’s so easy to say and so hard to do sometimes! I can forgive and pray for my husband. I mean,I made a commitment to God concerning him. I love him. He and I share a life and children together. We have history and I want us to have a future too.
What’s hard- is to forgive and desire to pray for others who kept secrets or were involved in any way in the past indiscretion against my marriage. I want to hate them, because I still have these emotions that I can’t direct at my spouse. Right?! So I want to send it all their way!!! I feel like I DESERVE TO HATE SOMEBODY!!! That only seems fair?! At least, there are some day I still feel that way very strongly.
God gets an OUTWARD victory in our marriage when we choose to walk in restoration and forgiveness after a marriage trauma of any kind. Others can see how big our God is as He works His miracles in our relationship!!! It’s a trophy for Him!!!
But when our spouse was unfaithful… God is working in our obedience to bring about a very private INWARD victory. That obedience is demonstrated in praying for the others that hurts us, too.
When we can pray for others involved, regarding:
-Salvation
-God’s guidance in their life
-Their relationships to be healed
-God to deal with them for forgiveness…
we are pleasing our Father. Our willingness to set our wounded spirits and raging emotions aside and obey His teachings give Him pleasure. It shows that we are willing to use this trial for spiritual growth and maturity.
In the moments when I wish to hate those people the most, I find praying for them most beneficial. Tears are stinging my eyes as I type this because it is tough to live out sometimes. However, it really is true that it’s impossible to honestly hate those you’re praying for. The Lord give grace to work through those strong emotional moments when we lay it all out before Him.
”But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;“
Matthew 5:44 KJV
